All Four Buildings are side by side, on the north side of Main Street, and connected internally. You can easily pass from one building to the next. |
Building 125, 125 West Main Street, was constructed circa 1905. It was dedicated to mercantile and stayed in that means until the 1960’s. It had then operated as a Hardware store until 2009. It was then purchased by us and operated as an Antique and retail business. There is a total of 10,000 square feet of useable space, a 62” x 72” hand operated freight elevator, a full tin ceiling on the first floor.
Building 121, 121 West Main Street, was constructed in the year of our Nation’s Centennial, 1876. It was also operated as mercantile. The “Henderson’s” operated out of this building as mercantile, Appliances, jeans, work clothes and shoes for men. It later would be a “Radio Shack”, still operated by a Henderson until the later 1990’s. It would be later operated as “The Clothes Line” a second hand clothing store. We purchased this building in 2012.
Building 119, 119 West Main Street, was also constructed in the year of our Nation’s Centennial, 1876. In the 1950’s this building housed, “Audrees”, a ladies clothing store. It remained until the 1990’s as a Dress shop. We purchased this building in 2010. We operate an Antique Shop in this Building. The upper floor was once the Opera House and the scene of once a many Plays and Parties.
Building 115, 115 West Main Street, was also constructed in the year of our Nation’s Centennial, 1876. We purchased this building in 2010. This building once housed a bakery, Western Auto, “Hallmark” store and is now an Antique Store. This buildings second floor as 119 was once the Opera House and the scene of once a many Plays and Parties.
Mrs. Eldridge Vinton was known to hold Gala’s and parties in the Opera House. |
